Panna Cotta

What’s a good anti-depressant? Comfort food.

I happen to like creamy confections like crème brûlée and panna cotta. They cheer me up just by saying the words out loud.

On Friday, while waiting for my interviewee (wine-loving businessman) to finish his interview with another magazine reporter, I decided to pass the time by eating Cav restaurant’s special dessert.


Yoghurt Panna Cotta with Skewered Fruit (P 390 – VAT inclusive)

It’s a thin but wide layer of yogurt panna cotta, which tasted faintly like cottage-cheese. It was topped with a red-wine based sauce, a raspberry sorbet, and thin peach slices. The tangy toppings offset the sugary base, but the sauce was too overwhelming for my Asian palate.

It was interesting, but wasn’t the taste I was going for. The hunt for awesome sweet confections continues.
